Sinus Augmentation

Thorough
Sinus Augmentation

Sinus augmentation, also known as a sinus lift, is a surgical procedure that adds bone to the upper jaw in the area of the molars and premolars. This procedure is necessary when there is not enough bone height in the upper jaw, or the sinuses are too close to the jaw for dental implants to be placed.

At our dental practice, we understand that the prospect of any surgery can be daunting, which is why we are committed to making the sinus augmentation process as comfortable as possible. Our highly skilled periodontists use the latest technology to ensure that our patients receive the best care possible.

During a sinus lift procedure, our periodontists make a small incision in the gum tissue to expose the bone underneath. They then cut a small window in the bone and gently lift the sinus membrane away from the jaw. A bone grafting material is then inserted into the newly created space, which will eventually fuse with the natural bone, creating a solid foundation for dental implants.

At our practice, we use only the highest quality bone grafting materials, including synthetic materials and bone from the patient’s own body. Our periodontists will work with you to determine the best option for your specific needs and ensure the most successful outcome.

Following the procedure, patients may experience mild swelling and discomfort, but this can be managed with medication and rest. Our team will provide detailed instructions for post-operative care and be available to answer any questions or concerns that may arise.

We understand the importance of having a healthy, functional smile, and we are dedicated to helping our patients achieve their desired results.
