Dr. Brandon West is board certified in periodontology and dental implant surgery. He values the trust of his patients and the opportunity to provide exceptional care just like his mentor, Dr. Karl Zeren. He was trained by Dr. Zeren starting in 2016. For this reason, Dr. West is excited to have the privilege to practice with Dr. Zeren and the honor to continue his commitment to comprehensive patient-centered care.
Dr. West is passionate about restoring the comfort, function, and beauty of his patients’ smiles. He prefers to save teeth to maintain a natural appearance and be conservative when possible. He is certified in the LANAP ® protocol by Millenium Dental Technologies, Inc. This is the only FDA-approved laser treatment for bone regeneration around teeth. Dr. West also has a strong interest in cosmetic dentistry and using implants to replace missing teeth in your smile. He is fully proficient in alveolar ridge reconstruction and periodontal plastic surgery. When performing gum grafting and other procedures, Dr. West can discuss alternative graft sources to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.
Dr. West is a proud alumnus of University of Maryland School of Dentistry. While in Baltimore, he received both of his degrees in Doctor of Dental Surgery and Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a certificate in Periodontics. He completed his master’s thesis by coordinating a multicenter randomized control trial evaluating bone grafts used for alveolar ridge preservation and future dental implant placement. Dr. West is also an active member of the American Board of Periodontology, American Academy of Periodontology, and American Dental Association.
Dr. West is a veteran of the U.S. Navy after serving over ten years in the reserve and active duty. He was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant Commander. While at Great Lakes, Illinois for his last duty station, he served at Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center. This command is a joint facility for the Veteran’s Administration hospital and military base. With this unique opportunity, he cared for thousands of medically-compromised veterans, who suffered from several disabilities. Dr. West also completed clinical rotations at the Marine Core Recruiting Depot in San Diego, CA, and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. In addition to his military service, he practiced in the private sector for the past three years in Chicago, Illinois.
Personally, Dr. West dedicates his spare time to being with his family. He is married to Dr. Jennifer West, who is also a dentist, and they have a one-year-old daughter. He also enjoys walking outdoors, traveling, and golfing. Dr. West looks forward to the opportunity to meet you.
